unpleasant day~

was looking forward for the BCLS course this morning. oh, BCLS means Basic Cardiac Life Support in short. basically it's CPR. well, we've gotta be trained and tested and be given a cert to prove that I've successfully undertaken the training.

sat through the E-learning for half an hour. didn't even manage to finish up the E-learning. then we were asked to go to the skill lab so that we'll be able to do hands-on the mannequin. they demonstrate to us 4 modules. which will all be tested later in the afternoon. first module is the one man CPR, then infant CPR, followed by how to handle choking adults and infant. all were being demonstrated very quickly. i wasn't able to catch everything. after the demonstration by those instructors (which turned out to be extremely mean instructors!!) we were being separated into 4 groups. cus there were too many of us.

then we get to know that our instructor is Mr. X (let's not mention names). thought he's very nice at first. mana tau.. turned out to be a mean and strict instructor!! probably the meanest!! yeah, i know what they're teaching us today involves human lives and that we should not be fooling around. but we were sooo not fooling around! in fact we paid full attention to whatever it is that they taught!

Mr. X started teaching. and i can definitely say that he has got NO PATIENCE AT ALL!!!
he was like "why are you doing this???!!! do you think this is right??!! locate your landmark! hurry up!! why are you so slow??!! how do you expect to save a person's life by doing that?!!? why can't you understand??! put your finger here!! pump harder!! blow into the mannequin's mouth harder! i said harder!!! you're not doing what i asked you to!!, do you know your steps??!".

well, that's just half of it. there's loads more. really felt like crying there. didn't expect to get this kinda teaching. kept on rushing us to do it better. how can we possibly do anything well if you're rushing us??! felt like going crazy. and i will definitely remember this phrase of his, "go save a person's life to prove me wrong". sigh. excuse me sir. it's not like we don't believe you. it's just that we needed more time to practice.

we even have to sit for a test which consists of 30 multiple choice question and the practical test.
well, thank god i passed it all. thank god all of us passed it. the practical test wasn't exactly a pleasant one though. lots of scolding there as well. but i don't feel like talking bout it anymore. just ate ice cream to cool myself down. and now I'm blasting music into my head to get everything out!!! just hope i can sleep well tonight. tomorrow gotta do morning shift. sigh. what a day..

A global catalysm caused by the collapse of the Earth's crust and worldwide floodings that leads to the end of the world and has survivors struggling for their lives, while a US Government agency called the "Institute for Human Continuity" attempts to use ships to ensure the survival of the human race.
The film explores the idea of a global doomsday event coinciding with the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar's current cycle on or around December 21, 2012 (the northern hemisphere's winter solstice).

Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). Dwayne Johnson is “The Tooth Fairy,” also known as Derek Thompson, a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. At first, Derek “can’t handle the tooth” – bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers’ homes…doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.

another movie where the townfolks are infected with an unknown toxin and starts killing. A picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens soon turns into a sickening asylum.

For Wonderland is no ordinary place and the characters that populate it are quite unlike anybody young Alice has ever met before. my big day!!~

finally! the day that i've been looking forward to my whole life! my graduation convo!!! did not expect that i would have this day! kinda waited around 2 months since we left college for this convocation.
was able to meet all of my friends again!!! unfortunately, i wasn't able to talk to most of them! we were all busy taking picture!!! such a waste though. i don't think there will be another time where we'll meet everyone again. everyone has their own thing to do, and they'll definitely be busy working. so yeah, there won't be another time for us to hang out.

oh well, at least i was able to take some pictures with them!!
hope that all my former classmates will all succeed in whatever they do!! good luck guys!~

tiring but great day!~

started the day by getting up pretty early and went to Gleneagles Hospital. gotta wait for the bus. and sometimes the bus comes really late!! geez!

this is where we're stayin'!

classes was only until 12.30 yesterday. so we planned to go JB to do some shopping. mainly shoe hunting. needed a pair of shoes badly for the graduation. so we took a bus to JB, slept during the journey. traffic was terrible. forgot to see how long it took us to reach JB.

anyway, we went to City Square. walked for hours till we managed to buy all of our shoes! mission accomplished!!

bought this from Bugis. sticked it on my EZ link card~

this was taken at City Square.

nearly bought this dress which costs RM 130! thank god Ping Ping and Chai persuaded me not to buy another one since i've already bought myself a dress for graduation ceremony.

this will be added on to my shoes collection~

love the frills!~
well, after shopping, we had dinner then helped out Chia Sing to search for her shoes. she managed to get one in the end though! good for her. afterall, we came all the way from Singapore to JB just to get shoes!

end of PP1O training!!

wheee! it's over! no more customer service training to attend! after sitting through this training for 3 days, i kinda can't wait to start serving those patients! i mean they are our source of income anyway. so we gotta treat them well! no customers = no income = no salary = no job.

oh well, today was the assessment day. kinda reminded us of OSCE. which was our practical exams back in the college days. i had fun today though. we were being assessed individually. the assessor would act as a customer to the hospital, and they will evaluate on how we serve them. so, my assessor today was Mr. Jahan. i thought he was strict at first. but i was wrong. that reminded me again on how i should not judge a person by the looks. he was soooooo nice! nice and sweet man. too bad he's married. =( haha! nah, just joking.

okay, these are the amount of sweets that we ate!~ geez.. worried bout getting diabetes!

we had home made sandwich for lunch!!~

we even had tea break! to keep us from falling asleep~

our facilitator, Ms. Connie Wang~

say cheese!~

tmrw will be the start of a new class. nursing foundation if I'm not mistaken.
gotta go bed already! gotta be up early!! nites~

2nd day of orientation

so, this is the 2nd day of my orientation. today's topic was PP10. which means Parkway Health's Perfect 10. there's 17 hours on this topic! gee~ basically the topic is about customer service. excellent customer service that is. well otherwise it wouldn't be called PP10. as the topic implies, everything has to be perfect! we covered few sub topics today. among them are 'attitude, effective communication, listening skills, and types of customers'. there's even a test for this tmrw!! damn it! did some lame activities today. lots of lame games. we played a game today where the facilitator gets someone to go in front, then the facilitator would give that person a word, eg. clown and that person has to act it out without saying a word. and we're supposed to guess. don't know what this game is called though. so mine was 'Hawaiian dance'. i was like "wut the hell??" so i did it. in front of everyone. but instead of doin' the Hawaiian dance, i did an action like I'm playin' the hula hoop. don't know why. ha ha! nervous maybe! told my parents over skype, and my mum could do the Hawaiian dance much better than me!
but i managed to get over with it did it and they guessed it right and i went back to my seat.
our facilitator gave each of us these badges 'cus she kinda start the class slightly later than it was supposed to be.
we were asked to match the expressions according to the monkey's face. see which group could finish it faster. this was kinda fun though.

tmrw is another hectic day as my facilitator told us that there will be lots of role play activities and a test. there will be a certificate awarded if we are able to pass the test.
then on Thursday there would be an assessment. overall assessment. from head to toe. individually. this is to assess whether are we presentable to the public. sigh. didn't know i had to go through all these to become a nurse.
oh well, guess I'll just have to brace up and go through all these obstacles~

ooohh.. lanterns!

well, celebrated mooncake festival last saturday night actually. but forgot to blog bout it. had a great time! we put up lanterns just like what we used to do when we were kids. we celebrated my brother's birthday as well, together with a cousin of mine. they don't share the same birthday though. just that my brother's is on the 2nd and my cousin's on the 1st of Oct. so they celebrated it together.

then we put up the lanterns on a pathetic lookin' tree. 'cus we've got nowhere else to hang the lanterns. so we hung it on the tree. ^^'

yeah, was so glad that i was able to spend some time with my family before i left for Singapore. miss them so much!

back in spore..

phew. back to spore in the end. refused to come back here but I've got no choice. and I'm gonna stop being so emo! ^^' gotta accept it no matter what though. oh well, went to Parkway College today for some orientation thing. took a bus from our house which is in Queen's Road. but we stopped at the wrong bus stop. and ended up walking quite a distance to reach the Parkway Coll. damn.. exercising early in the morning. when we reach there we were kinda drenched in sweat. oh! by sayin' "we", i mean my housemate! so once we were at the coll, we realize that they're not only orientating us(Pantai Students), but also all the new staffs who are being employed by the Parkway Health Group. there are those who are from the Laboratory Dept, Radiology Dept, Rehab, Customer Service, Quality Measures, F&B and so on. almost 80 ppl in the class room.

talk started at 8.30am. and ended around 5.45pm. phew.. we were exhausted even by just listening. mentally exhausted. we had activities as well. firstly was the ice breaking session. which i HATE the most. sigh.. we gotta stand up one by one. start by telling our name, followed by which hospital we serve, and which department we are from. but they made it interesting by asking what would we do if we were to have 3 million USD. phew! they even asked if we were able to choose a person to have dinner and spend 3 hours with, who would we choose. be it George Clooney or Brad Pitt. interesting huh. really got me thinking.

so my answer was... if i were to have 3 million USD, oh, when it was my turn, it was 9 million USD. the talker increased it. okay, so my reply was, "firstly i would DEFINITELY pay off my bond with Parkway. then buy my parents whatever it is that they wanted, go travelling with my family, and lastly donate some to the victims of tsunami, typhoon and earth quake. yeah, so that was it. 9 million USD is like a huge amount! couldn't think of what else to do with it. =p

then after class, we went to Bugis Junction. to get myself a pillow and a mobile broadband. otherwise i wouldn't be able to blog now. kinda applied for the 4mbps for 35.95 dollars. and it's under a contract of 2 years. well the speed is not bad though.

oh well, think i gotta go bathe now. toodles!~
